
The Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District is seeking applicants for a School Social Worker. This is a 185-day, school year position, with the possibility of additional summer hours.
Position Description: The individual selected for this position will provide general education and special education social work services to students in the PreK-12 school setting to address social, emotional, mental health, and behavioral needs. Responsibilities will also involve coordinating behavioral support for intensive-needs students, and direct student or group therapy will be conducted per the individual student’s plan of care or IEP. Billing for Medicaid services and utilizing the electronic student database system is a function of this position.

This position requires extensive driving throughout the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District. Your main office will be in Gogebic County, but regular travel to homes and community settings throughout Ontonagon County is a mandatory part of the job.

Families are invited to stop by the Ironwood Depot and Ironwood Carnegie Library for stories, art projects, activities, and Meet Up and Eat Up opportunities.

The GOISD/GCC Summer Welding Camp wrapped up June 19 with an exciting final day!
Students welcomed guest speaker John Granato from Airgas, who shared valuable information about welding career paths and opportunities in the field.
Families also had the chance to take part in a parent lab tour and show-and-tell, where students proudly shared the many cool critter projects they created throughout the week.
Great job to all of our welding campers! We are proud of the skills, creativity, and hard work you showed this week.

CTE programs across our districts are making a measurable difference — and the results are powerful.
During the 2024–25 school year, 190 students (nearly 50% of our juniors and seniors) participated in Career & Technical Education programs in Automotive, Business Management, Construction, Education, Food Systems & Natural Resources, Health Sciences/Nursing, Mechanical Drafting/CADD, and Welding.
