Health Science/Nursing
This course provides students with an introduction to various careers in healthcare while building foundational knowledge essential for success in the medical field. Students will learn basic medical terminology, infection control protocols, and essential life-saving skills, including American Heart Association CPR and First Aid training.
The course also explores healthcare delivery systems and different care environments.
To gain hands-on experience, students will participate in a clinical rotation at one of our local nursing homes, hospitals, or clinics, allowing them to apply their skills in a real-world healthcare setting.
Students will also have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials, including:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- EKG Technician
- Phlebotomy Technician
- Patient Care Technician (PCT)
This course is ideal for those interested in pursuing careers in nursing, patient care, or other healthcare professions.
